GesLearn(R)Shatin or simply referred to as 'Shatin' (Software Hosting Assessment & Teaching Item Network) is a window-based software that enables storage and retrieval of Examination/Test items for all learning disciplines. Its dynamic structure caters for storage of items of all learning disciplines such as Arts, Mathematics, Applied Sciences as well as Biomedical sciences etc. Though its interface language is in English, it enables storage of items in different languages. It also enables items to be classified by user defined criteria. This PC-window based software works with several other softwares: GesLearn® ExamAnalysis, GesLearn® Shatin-i and the IRT (Item Response Theory) analysis output of the R-project (www.r-project.org). This software can import the Classical Theory item analysis report of GesLearn ExamAnalysis) and the R-project IRT analysis output. It can also import or export items to GesLearn® ShatinI. GesLearn-ShatinI is an Internet-based software that, in additional to the functions of Shatin, enables administration of on-line Exams, posting of Teaching Materials, Notices, Course evaluations as well as communications with students.
